More than 50% of Russia's confirmed tank losses from the first month were abandoned. People jumped to hyperbolic conclusions about the viability of tanks without actually looking at the data (or how Ukraine used them). An example of how false narratives are difficult to dispel.

@robert51300 I said confirmed losses. Not all of Russia's tank losses were documented, but many of those documented on the list as destroyed were likely abandoned first before being destroyed by hand. A substantial share of Russia's initial tank losses were not combat losses.
