@Boba12340769066 Я не понимаю смысла в таком обстреле для ВСУ

6. 'Kropyva’ combat control system.
In fact, Kropyva’ 1st developed by UA IT sector in 2014. This means UAF had time to develop, practice and doctrinize its use. Deserves future study. Sulyhivka, Bilohorivka, Sosnove etc some examples of its effectiveness.
-----------
@MikkoLaaksonen1:
11/x All artillery units had #UAV:s. "‘Kropyva’ combat control system – saw an 80% reduction in the deployment time for artillery units. Simultaneously, the amount of time to destroy an unplanned target was reduced by two-thirds, and the time to open counter-battery fire by 90%"

7. This undoubtedly happened. But I also recall cases where RuAF readily concentrated armour + soft skins into small areas without being canalised or just seemed sloppy. Skybyn near Brovary and Kamyanka dam in Kharkiv Region (both March) first come to mind.
-----------
@MikkoLaaksonen1:
12/x Like #Finland doctrine: "Thus, Ukrainian defence plans aimed at using manoeuvre forces to fix and canalise attackers to enable their destruction by concentrated artillery fire"

RT @DefenceU: Every day, Ukraine is expecting another massive missile attack on our cities and villages.
Thank you to our Norwegian partners for making the lives of our citizens much, much safer.

8. Yes UAF's use of tanks in indirect fire role became refined + increasingly drone-directed. I suspect much of 3rd + 4th reserve tank bdes used for this in summer. I understand also due to necessity - a severe lack of arti ammo in some manoeuvre brigades.
-----------
@MikkoLaaksonen1:
13/x #Ukraine used tanks for indirect fire missions, as mobile reserves capable of defending themselves. "during the years of the war in Donbas, the tankers of the UAF changed traditional approaches and developed techniques for indirect fire"

9. In this regard it would be interesting to see a study one day on kills per system set against numbers deployed; as well as for the lesser-used systems. Currently, I do not know of any baseline, but I suspect Stugna-P figures would be good.
-----------
@MikkoLaaksonen1:
16/x "It took 30 days to prepare crews
arriving from military units to properly employ #Stugna-P. #Javelin, by contrast, was much easier to employ, requiring days to train crews, while personnel
could be trained to use #NLAW in hours"

10. And in one case I heard of, Ukraine's fast air was flying from a relatively forward operating base. I'm Interested to know after the war how often their units would shift airbases and what kind of improvised airstrips were used.
-----------
@MikkoLaaksonen1:
21/x An important element of the training was working out the survivability of units through the ability to disperse aircraft from the main airfields to operational ones. (..) training of maintenance crews, to carry out pre-flight preparation of aircraft in field conditions

@vmanulik Yes as well as a few tanks captured. It's where the 6th thank regiment, 90 Guards Tank Division charged down one highway. Commander was killed and then they parked up all together in a huge bunch without dispersing, got hit and then turned and run.

@StephenShilcock Thanks. I will need some more time.
