During period of occupation of Kherson, inhabitants constantly complained about the stench from the city dump, claiming that Russians were constantly burning the bodies of their dead soldiers there.

I don't think any of the big USN carriers have made port visits in Norway, though participation in exercises in Norwegian waters was common in the late Cold War years.

Iowa-class battleships have been to Oslo. USS New Jersey and USS Wisconsin in 1947, and the USS Iowa in 1985.
