#Ukraine: Ukrainian forces captured an abandoned Russian 1V119 "Reostat" in #Kherson Oblast.
This is an uncommon artillery battalion fire direction vehicle used by the VDV- usually with 2S9 "Nona" 120mm self-propelled gun-mortars.

Besides Iranian loitering munitions, #Russia apparently also purchased Iranian body armour- this kit was received by some mobilized troops.
We can observe a Rouin-3 ballistic vest with NIJ IV ceramic plates and a NIJ II helmet, both manufactured by 🇮🇷 Milad Industrial.

This is happening against the background of a significant lack of ballistic protection for mobilized military personnel.
Russia is forced to buy body armor from manufacturers abroad- we previously documented Turkish plate carriers, and helmets/plates of unknown origin,

... as well as stop-gap decisions (For example, the Kolpak-20 based on the SSh-68 steel helmet) and sometimes just frankly outdated steel helmets with body armor from the 1990s.
In this context, the purchase from Iran looks quite logical, albeit definitely a humiliating move.

@LocumRex There is no way this can be purchased without the engagement of officials. Milad is a subsidiary of the Iranian Defense Industries Organization, a state-owned company.
This stuff is just not sold at your local shop.

The further away from Russian your country lays, the more you need to read and understand what she says.

🧵In my speech "The Battle of Our Time" @PaasikiviS, I asked:
Do we grasp the magnitude of what's happening in #Ukraine? And what would be the price of failure?
This war isn't just about Ukraine but the rules-based world order and future security architecture of Europe. 1/12 https://t.co/RSUHnoT6bL
