We note that this is not the first time when such loud statements are just short-sighted and, of course, offensive for the Belarusian people.

When such things are said by a representative of the Ukrainian government, then, whether we like it or not, the majority will perceive it not as an opinion of an individual, but as an opinion of the entire Ukrainian nation.

We believe that the award was given exactly to those who should have received it. And you need to know a little bit about these people and organizations.
Ales Bialiatski is a Belarusian, the founder of the most well-known Belarusian human rights organization @viasna96.

Ales for decades has been defending the rights of Belarusians and disclosing the crimes of the Lukashenka regime. Ales Bialiatski was twice recognized as a political prisoner. This man is imprisoned right now for speaking and standing up for the truth.

Obviously, Bialiatski deserves this award. And accusing him of not doing enough is extremely inappropriate.

The term non-strategic nuclear weapons is a more accurate label than tactical.
Yield isn't a good way to discriminate between strategic and NSNWs either. As an example, Soviet anti-ship missiles typically carried warheads in the 200 - 350kt range.

Any potential nuclear use, by anyone, anywhere, will certainly have strategic effects.
However, there is a need to discriminate between nuclear systems and the I think the distinction between strategic and non-strategic is the most accurate, without diving into the details.
