Good thread. Putin doesn't have great options at this point. Escalating, deescalating, and continuing the present course all come with risks and no guarantees. Ukraine has little incentive to seek a compromise right now, and it gets a vote for when and how this war will end.

I don't think he can do a "full Syria" at this point any longer.
This war gone too far and there are no longer good options for the Kremlin.

@grylxndr Hard to tell what their losses are, aside from the estimate Zelensky gave a couple of weeks ago. But Ukraine has mobilized and Russia has not, and you don't need as many troops to defend.

One of the biggest surprises for me from this war has been the muted role played by Russian EW so far. I suspect US support (including Starlink) has been critical. Probably worth waiting until we get more information before drawing too many conclusions.
