The first known appearance of the US-made Mobile Anti-Air Weapons Launcher – Reconfigurable (MAAWLR) short-range air defense system in Ukraine.
In the footage, the vehicle, developed by the American Sierra Nevada Corporation company, can be seen being targeted by a Russian FPV drone.
MAAWLR is a light, low-cost platform dedicated for countering unmanned aerial vehicles. The system is based on the Battery Revolving Adaptive Weapons Launcher - Reconfigurable (BRAWLR) established on a pick-up chassis.
The BRAWLR can have its pylons swapped to fire a wide variety of munitions, including AIM-9, AIM-120, AIM-132, IRIS-T, APKWS II and R-27. The vehicle is also equipped with the MX-15 optoelectronic complex for target detection and tracking.
It isn't publicly known how many MAAWLR air defense systems have been delivered to Ukraine.
