@PanzerJo @stas_gryshyn: There's a big propaganda side to SARMAT, Burevestnik and Poseidon, but of these programs, SARMAT makes a lot of sense while the other two, to varying degrees, don't.

I personally believe that the Strategic Rocket Forces need this missile, as any remaining SS-18s now have dubious reliability while still accounting for a considerable number of warheads, so a successful test now was important for them.

However, to be regarded as a reliable missile system, as the Yars variants are, we need to see a number of new successful tests, including long range shot(s) into the Pacific.

Final note, the silo conversion program is progressing faster than the test program, so they seem determined to deploy it.
