Crazy idea here, but perhaps the United States would be better off if Presidential staffing decisions were based on neither:
A. Which Ivy League you went to.
B. Looking good on TV.

A lot of Biden’s admin was staffed by a bunch of incompetent guys who had degrees from Yale. I did my PhD with one of them who wrote one of the single worst pieces of scholarship I ever read in my life. He became head of the NSC for an important issue.
