After spending the winter in Soledar and Bakhmut, Khartiia was expanded to Brigade size in early 2023, under the National Guard's "Offensive Guard" program.
It fully deployed at the end of the year, taking positions in the Serebryanka forest besides the legendary Azov Brigade.

May 10th 2024 was a major turning point in Khartiia's history - the Russian Kharkiv Offensive began on the northern border, and the brigade was called to respond.
The reshuffling of units that ensued saw the Brigade deploy to the Lyptsi-Hlyboke sector within the first week of the offensive.
This area is just ~10 kilometers from where the unit had fought two years earlier.

In early 2025, the brigade was expanded into the 2nd National Guard Corps "Khartiia".
The high level of coordination and Command & Control shown by the brigade's headquarters were crucial factors in this decision.

Additionally, a distinguishing feature of Khartiia has long been their emphasis on drones: from the use of aerial systems in the strike role to pioneering some of the earliest employments of Unmanned Ground Vehicles, Khartiia has always looked at the development of Unmanned Systems as a natural progression of the conflict.
Already at the beginning of 2025, the brigade spearheaded the use of UGVs for the evacuation of wounded servicemen.

More recently, Khartiia's corps headquarters and a battlegroup from the Brigade were successfully deployed in the city of Kupyansk to stop the Russian infiltration and clear the city of occupiers.
The closing months of 2025 saw intense urban battles carried out, in particular, by units of the 4th (International Battalion).
In March 2026, this battalion was expanded into the Corps' 23rd Separate Assault Regiment “RUG”.
