🇺🇸🇱🇹 Unfortunate timing by the Lithuanian MoD: A day after production contract is awarded, they have announced that they have signed a ~$280 million FMS Letter of Offer & Acceptance with the US for 8 more M142 HIMARS and munitions.
Lithuania already has 8 on contract via Lot 14 with delivery scheduled for this summer.
Hopefully the Army can amend the UCA to get them on contract now so they don't have to wait for Lot 18 next year. https://twitter.com/ColbyBadhwar/status/2049597537301012539#m

They explained why: "The purchased artillery missile system is compatible with other technologies used by the Lithuanian Armed Forces, therefore, it will be easier to integrate it into existing defence plans and thus increase deterrence."
