@planefag: There is no interest in a new treaty. Trump already demonstrated that NATO is capable of making positive reforms through constructive engagement: see 5% target. All he has to do is log off social media and use his phone to have actual conversations with allies.

@GodlyTrident: If the US has issues with specific countries they should take it up with those specific countries, namely France & Spain. The problem isn't with NATO as a whole.

Agree, but most people don't want original reporting. They want their biases to be confirmed. They want content that pulls on their emotions.
The market place for original reporting and sober analysis is very small.
Even those of us in that marketplace are very susceptible to sharing slop content. Every day I see people who should know better reposting grifter accounts that do no original reporting and provide no real value.

We need more journalists & fewer pundits.
We need more original reporting & fewer hot takes riffing off the news.
We don't have this because reporting takes work and is difficult & pontificating on YouTube is lazy…
