This afternoon, a significant explosion occurred at the Nizhnekamskneftekhim petrochemicals plant located in the city of Nizhnekamsk, Republic of Tatarstan, southern Russia.
A massive cloud of thick black smoke started to rise over the city of Nizhnekamsk, with some of the locals reporting feeling a sore throat following the blast.
The cause of the explosion is yet unknown, and the official investigation is underway.
At least 1 person was killed, over 50 were wounded during the incident, with casualty numbers expected to rise
