RT @mediazona_en: Russia has confirmed the death of Polish citizen Krzysztof Galos in a Taganrog jail; he was detained in the occupied part of the Zaporizhia region back in 2023.
According to Gazeta Wyborcza, the confirmation came from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which claimed that the man was detained for “opposing the special military operation” in the occupied part of Ukraine’s Zaporizhia region. The 58-year-old man officially died from “cardiomyopathy of unknown etiology, which led to the development of cerebral edema, pulmonary edema, and acute cardiovascular failure, which was the immediate cause of death.”
According to Galos’s son, Russia responded to Poland's diplomatic notes and confirmed his father’s death only after two and a half years. Galos was buried in Taganrog on July 14, 2023, 10 days after his death. The family never received a document confirming this.
