In total, the USAF let go of more than a dozen E-3 aircraft in the 2023-2024 timeframe. These airframes were sent into storage at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (AMARG) at Davis-Monthan AFB while the community waits for the E-7 transition or whatever other plan the USAF ultimately seeks for the AMTI mission. https://twitter.com/AirPowerNEW1/status/2038104574733558056#m

@thinkdefence: No clue. I have spoken to senior generals about the lessons from Ukraine, and they are receptive and recognize that we have much to learn from Ukrainians. I think part of the problem might be organizational incentives and maybe unclear responsibilities for pulling these lessons and spreading them across the force.

I believe the Air Force had said a few years back they wanted 22-26, so it's notable to receive confirmation that this acquisition objective hasn't been cut by OSD.
