@fab_hinz: They conducted an experiment with them beginning last September. The 2026 State Defense Order plan right now includes the production of 24,000 Geran-2, 12,000 Geran-Seeker, 12,000 Geran-4 and Geran-5, 24,000 Gerbera-Kamikaze and 36,000 Gerbera-Seeker, and 7,000 Harpyia-A1. The General Staff's assessment is that they need more than 87,000 OWA drones this year (not including BM-35/70), but funding could affect their actual production numbers. Geran-4 and 5 are supposed to begin serial production in March-April, but obviously there could be setbacks.

@NotWoofers: I actually think it's ok, but mostly because Ukraine's mobilization system has flaws. There is a shortage in frontline brigades, and it is better to give the brigades more time to conduct acclimation training when they receive new soldiers, which is often less than two weeks. If soldiers were mobilized and had more time for training, then training abroad would make more sense.

RT @AirPowerNEW1: AeroVironment is set to enter its LOCUST X3 system for the US Army’s requirement to produce an initial batch of 24 Enduring High Energy Laser (HEL) systems.
This latest iteration leverages the design, production, and combat-proven operational experience of the 10–20 kW class Locust HEL, which has been deployed since at least 2023.
AeroVironment describes LOCUST X3 as "a third-generation 20–35+ kW Directed Energy Laser Weapon System designed to defeat current and emerging aerial threats, including Group 1–3 unmanned aircraft systems"

RT @OPTester_Chris: Couple of things:
- Yes it works
- This was designed and deployed to be a part of the US contribution to defense of Europe as part of the NATO alliance
- The sites have been transferred to NATO tactical control via NATO’s BMD Command in Stuttgart, GE
- European missile defense assets are a part of the defense architecture.
