RT @AirPowerNEW1: As I've noted in the replies to the quoted post, the US Army had had a small number of the 10 and 20kW class Palletized High Energy Laser (PHEL) made by Blue Halo (AeroVironment) and also known as Locust, forward deployed in CENTCOM for a number of years. This has been known since 2023. In late 2023, the US Army even confirmed that these were in the theater 'having success' but noted that videos of that were classified (video in the reply to quoted post).

Separately, the US Navy has a 60+ kW (scalable to 100kW) High Energy Laser built by Lockheed Martin (HELIOS) operationally deployed on a DDG-51 destroyer. The US Army is also getting close to receiving (if not already in possession) of a 300kW High Energy Laser produced by Leidos and Lockheed Maritn.
