Iran mining the Straight, more than the UAS threat, has been the scenario that the United States & allies have been the least prepared for.
The entire US Navy only has 4 minesweepers. https://twitter.com/WeaponScientist/status/2031435442734645685#m

I should specify just 4 dedicated mine countermeasure vessels, since the Independence class LCS can be equipped with a mine countermeasure module too.

Saudi Arabia in Talks to Buy Air-Defense Equipment from Ukraine
Saudi Arabia is set to buy a large order of Ukrainian air-defense equipment, as it and other Gulf countries face attacks from the same type of drones that Kyiv has been battling for years.

RT @MT_Anderson: EYES ON THE CHOKEPOINT: Verifying Hormuz Traffic Beyond AIS
OSINT Analysis (Mar 10): With regional tensions spiking, relying solely on commercial AIS data can be risky, as vessels often go "dark" in high-threat areas.
To get the ground truth, I pulled Sentinel-1C SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) imagery of the Strait of Hormuz from this afternoon (14:16 UTC).
Here is what the radar actually sees:
The Transits: You can distinguish underway vessels by their elongated radar returns and wake signatures. Currently, only a few vessels appear to be actively "making a run" through the strait.
The Holding Pattern: Contrast that with the massive clusters of radar returns denoting largely stationary vessels grouped together in holding areas.
The Takeaway: SAR confirms that physical traffic through the world's most critical oil chokepoint has slowed to a trickle. https://twitter.com/The_Lookout_N/status/2031410578317537766#m

RT @OTregub: Something uncomfortable is happening in Hungary – and too few people are talking about it.
The recent detention of Ukrainian bank employees carrying cash through Hungary was not a law enforcement operation and but an FSB style operation: heavily armed officers, disproportionate force, and reportedly even interrogations conducted in Russian. Inside the EU and NATO!
I say this as someone who lived in Hungary. Hungarians used to be extremely sensitive about Russia. They remember 1956, when Soviet troops drowned their revolution in blood. Even hearing Russian spoken in public spaces could make people uncomfortable.
Which is why it feels surreal to watch parts of the society completely forgot this history lesson and support a Russian agent in power.
With elections coming and Péter Magyar polling well ahead of Orbán, there are already warnings about Russian “political technologies” being deployed. Ukrainians know these methods well.
The EU should watch these elections very closely. Letting Russia steal it would be a huge blow.
