🚨🇺🇸🇮🇱 US approves emergency arms sale to Israel
The US State Department has invoked the emergency clause of the AECA to approve a possible Foreign Military Sale to Israel of 12,000 BLU-110A/B general purpose, 1,000-pound bomb bodies, plus associated services, for an estimated $151.8 million.
This sale would be be fulfilled from both US stocks and new production from Garland, TX & MCAAP, OK.

BLU-110 new production unit cost is $10,900. Sale from stock cost will depend on the assessed need for replacement (yes if from Navy stocks, probably not if Air Force).

Just want to note as well, the nomenclature "bomb bodies" being used is a little odd, as that typically refers to just the metal parts and not completed ordnance; it does for artillery rounds at least. Perhaps some Air Force personnel can weigh in on that. Specifying BLU-110 implies these will be filled and not inert casings. I doubt Israel would buy them like that and do the explosive filling themselves in country.

@Gaurab: You are mistaken. There was no $8.8 billion investment into Holston, that award was the renewal of the operating contract, which has a base period of 10 years and a $8.8 billion ceiling.
There have undoubtedly been challenges with scaling explosives production there, but the US mostly uses TNT for things like artillery. The quantities of RDX, HMX and IMX made there have been adequate for what it has been required for (mostly aerial munitions).
Holston isn't going to be a point of immediate failure because stocks of things like Mark 80 series and SDB are very deep. They don't need to massively ramp up tomorrow to sustain new production of aircraft munitions for Epic Fury.
