Ukraine Battle Map (Twitter)
@Vincent_99_: The main way Russia funds its war on Ukraine is by money from selling oil and gas, now they will get more money from oil since the price of oil has skyrocketed and sell more oil six. Eye demand has skyrocketed. China will have to replace 15% of the oil it got from Iran, and it will be buying more from Russia. Same with India, the US is even helping Russia out with that, according to the Secretary of Treasury today, the US is taking the ban of India buying Russian oil, for at least a month.
The 2nd best way that the war is helping Russia, is that the focus is off Ukraine entirely, Ukraine will not be receiving anymore Patriot interceptors, meaning each Russian ballistic missile fired at Ukraine will have a higher and higher chance of striking its target. If Ukraine runs out of Patriot interceptors, all Russian ballistic missiles will be striking their targets all throughout Ukraine.
That means millions of Ukrainians will be without lights, and eventually Kyiv will be left without Patriot interceptors and less foreign drone interceptors as well. The US wants electron warfare systems and C-UAS systems that they sent to test in Ukraine, to now be transferred to the Middle East. That’s the worst that could happen to Ukraine in terms of air defenses.
Not only are they abandoning Ukraine, but they are stripping it of its air defenses and helping Russia gain more money from the war in profit from oil.
Yes, Iran is an ally of Russia, but they do not benefit Russia nearly as much as they did in the past. They don’t send military equipment anymore to Russia, and it was Russia sending military equipment to Iran in the last two years. Economically, only 0.7% of Russian exports go to Iran, and 1.5% of Iran’s exports go to Russia.
Oil and Ukraine losing weapons shipments is significantly more important to Russia than their trade with impoverished Iran.
Another question to ask, is why did Russia fund Iran? Because they wanted Iran to cause havoc in the Middle East, so it would take the West’s attention off of Ukraine and shift it onto the Middle East. That strategy has worked perfectly since October 2023, the West has abandoned Ukraine and sent their weapons to fight wars in the Middle East instead. Because currently Iran is Russia’s ally and not only are they their ally Iran is fighting Russia’s main enemy and helping deplete their military stockpiles as well, that’s why Russia, and soon China, is helping Iran to target American soldiers and bases.
Overall, in some ways, this war hurts Russia on the world stages with a weaker allies, but overall, the benefit they receiver economically from oil and an abandoned Ukraine defenseless against ballistic missiles helps them a lot more in the war.

🚨🇺🇸🇮🇱 US approves emergency arms sale to Israel
The US State Department has invoked the emergency clause of the AECA to approve a possible Foreign Military Sale to Israel of 12,000 BLU-110A/B general purpose, 1,000-pound bomb bodies, plus associated services, for an estimated $151.8 million.
This sale would be be fulfilled from both US stocks and new production from Garland, TX & MCAAP, OK.

A destroyed US 🇺🇸 THAAD AN/TPY-2 Radar worth over $600 million destroyed by an Iranian 🇮🇷 Shahed
The US only has 8 THAAD systems, and 12-13 active AN/TPY-2 radars, which take years to replace. All this could’ve been avoided if the US worked with Ukraine 🇺🇦 on drone interceptors

BLU-110 new production unit cost is $10,900. Sale from stock cost will depend on the assessed need for replacement (yes if from Navy stocks, probably not if Air Force).

Just want to note as well, the nomenclature "bomb bodies" being used is a little odd, as that typically refers to just the metal parts and not completed ordnance; it does for artillery rounds at least. Perhaps some Air Force personnel can weigh in on that. Specifying BLU-110 implies these will be filled and not inert casings. I doubt Israel would buy them like that and do the explosive filling themselves in country.

@Gaurab: You are mistaken. There was no $8.8 billion investment into Holston, that award was the renewal of the operating contract, which has a base period of 10 years and a $8.8 billion ceiling.
There have undoubtedly been challenges with scaling explosives production there, but the US mostly uses TNT for things like artillery. The quantities of RDX, HMX and IMX made there have been adequate for what it has been required for (mostly aerial munitions).
Holston isn't going to be a point of immediate failure because stocks of things like Mark 80 series and SDB are very deep. They don't need to massively ramp up tomorrow to sustain new production of aircraft munitions for Epic Fury.

@realWayneWade: It's an illustrative image. The Mark 80 series have been around for decades, but are not used as dumb bombs anymore. They are always used with guidance kits like JDAM, or Israel's SPICE.
