@Vnark: Europe has always "worked together" in one way or another. The question is how, and on what projects. There is no inherent advantage to cooperation, it all depends on the details of the agreement. We can see with FCAS that "cooperation" has only wasted time.

@JkLarsen92: Ukraine doesn't operate Gripen. Ukraine could operate Taurus on its current air frames within 6 months of a decision being made. Gripen is irrelevant to the question of Taurus provision to Ukraine.

@jj_smither @deaidua: The problem is the US's own inventory of PAC-3 MSE is also limited, given their own requirements and what has already been provided to Ukraine. The Army has only received ~1950 to date. From that subtract expenditures, drawdowns and sales. Doesn't leave much wiggle room.

@Jeff21461: So Norway is making an upfront commitment of around the same number of total deliveries to date. Not bad.

🇳🇴Norway is set to finance the procurement of French-made AASM Hammer precision-guided bombs for Ukraine, allocating €365 million for the effort.
P.S: I sincerely hope that a meaningful portion of these funds will go toward expanding production capacity. The AASM Hammer is an excellent system, highly capable, accurate, and combat-proven.
However, its limited production rate severely restricts its impact. Open-source data suggests annual output stands at around 1,200 units per year. That translates to roughly 3,3 bombs per day, hardly enough to sustain even two combat sorties daily with standard loadouts. At such rates, the system simply cannot demonstrate its full operational potential.
To be clear, I believe the AASM Hammer is a fairly priced top-tier product and in many respects it matches or even surpasses American equivalents such as JDAM. And I believe that in larger quantities they could influence the situation at the front....

5 PAC-3 interceptor missiles. What a joke? Ukraine 🇺🇦 received hundreds from America in the past, then under Trump Ukraine has stopped getting Patriot air defense missiles
Now, Europe is sending next to nothing meaning most Ukrainian Patriot systems are standing with no missiles
