The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed that in January 2026, Ukrainian forces carried out strikes with domestic-produced FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles on the Kapustin Yar Test Site in southern Russia.
According to the statement, the strikes targeted a complex of hangar-type buildings, where pre-launch preparation of Russian "medium-range intercontinental ballistic missiles" (presumably they meant Oreshnik IRBM) takes place.
The Ukrainian side claimed that one of the buildings on the territory of the test site received damage of varying degree, while a hangar was significantly damaged, and some of the personnel evacuated from the Kapustin Yar as a result of the attack.
