I don't envy those in charge who have to deal with this and try to balance things for as long as possible.

As a matter of fact, the "VERONICA" tanker was recently re-registered in Russia and reportedly re-named as "GALILEO."
So the ship was, at least in theory, sailing under the Russian flag.
