I don't have the capacity or energy to dive into this right now but, due to the Greenland business, there are a lot of not so good takes, "analysis" and newly formed opinions on northern latitude security issues floating around.

Skepticism is very much required.

On 12 January 2025, Ukrainian @usf_army strike drones destroyed three Russian air-defense assets on the Zaporizhzhia and Donetsk axes:
•P-18 “Prima” radar
•Tor SAM system
•Tunguska SPAAG/SAM system

The strikes were conducted by the 412th Nemesis Brigade using middle-strike UAVs, hitting targets over 100 km behind the front line with warheads exceeding 10 kg.

These were the 9th, 10th, and 11th enemy radar and air-defense assets destroyed between 1–12 January

"But Venezuela was unable to maintain and operate the S-300 — one of the world’s most advanced antiaircraft systems — as well as the Buk defense systems, leaving its airspace vulnerable when the Pentagon launched Operation Absolute Resolve to capture Mr. Maduro, four current and former American officials said.

Beyond that, an analysis by The New York Times of photos, videos and satellite imagery found that some air defense components were still in storage, rather than operational, at the time of the attack. Taken together, the evidence suggests that, despite months of warnings, Venezuela was not ready for the American invasion.

In short, the Venezuelan military’s incompetence appears to have played a big role in the U.S. success. Venezuela’s much-touted antiaircraft systems were essentially not connected when U.S. forces entered the skies over Venezuela’s capital, and they may not have been working for years, former officials and analysts said."...

RT @olex_scherba: Ukraine faces both Russian insanity and severe winter in the same time now. Yet, people are holding up, like they used to.

At this point, there’s nothing that would break Ukrainian spirit.

Another video from Russia's Rubicon Center showing UAS strikes on oil storage; ships; P-18, Rada, and counterbattery radar; and other targets apparently with Italmas and FPV UAS at claimed ranges up to 160km.

@Maks_NAFO_FELLA: The MIRVs didn’t have warheads and randomly spread out over a 300 meter radius. Russia lies about everything. There is no evidence that the plant was disabled either from Ukrainian or Russian sources. Maybe some MIRVs did kinetic damage, due to chance, but not disabling the plant

Russian Defense Ministry claims that the Lviv State Aircraft Repair Plant in western Ukraine was "put out of service" due to the Russian strike with Oreshnik IRBM on January 9, 2026.

Russian MoD says that the plant has been used for repair and maintenance of Ukraine-operated warplanes (including F-16 and MiG-29 fighter jets), as well as manufacture of medium- and long-range strike drones.
