По-перше, війна розвивається нелінійно і навіть цей календарний рік можна розбивати на кілька періодів, а якщо вдаватися в специфічні деталі, то ще й в географічному розрізі. По-друге, якщо вже на те пішло, то певно більш коректно «підсумовувати» виходячи з дати початку повномасштабної війни.
Проте, оскільки кожен вирішує сам для себе що коректно, а що ні, і що аналізувати ситуацію варто постійно, то чому б ні? Напишу які підсумки/висновки чи подекуди субʼєктивні припущення прийшли в мою неспокійну голову в 2025 році.
Для мене особисто і для нашого підрозділу цей час став перехідним в прямому і переносному сенсі. Ми зіткнулися з трансформаціями як нашого війська, так і противника. Буду давати загальну тезу і розшифровувати. 1/

"U.S. national-security officials said Wednesday that Ukraine didn’t target Russian President Vladimir Putin or one of his residences in a recent drone strike, challenging Moscow’s assertion that Kyiv sought to kill the Russian leader.
That conclusion is supported by a Central Intelligence Agency assessment that found no attempted attack against Putin had occurred, according to a U.S. official briefed on the intelligence.
The CIA declined to comment.
Ukraine was looking to strike a military target that Kyiv had hit before, located in the same region as Putin’s country residence but not close by, the U.S. official said."

In an analysis from @radiosvoboda using Russian casualties figures from the Ukrainian General Staff and Russian territorial gains from @Black_BirdGroup, they determine that Russia took fewer casualties per kilometer gained in 2025 compared to 2024 (84.6 to 99.7). This included territory retaken in Kursk at the beginning of the year.

But a parallel weapon had remained in place —permission for C.I.A. and military officers to share targeting intelligence and provide other assistance for Ukrainian drone strikes against crucial components of the Russian defense industrial base. These included factories manufacturing “energetics” — chemicals used in explosives — as well as petroleum-industry facilities.
In June, beleaguered U.S. military officers met with their C.I.A. counterparts to help craft a more concerted Ukrainian campaign. It would focus exclusively on oil refineries and, instead of supply tanks, would target the refineries’ Achilles’ heel: A C.I.A. expert had identified a type of coupler that was so hard to replace or repair that a refinery would remain offline for weeks....
