- Putin and Trump share "broadly similar views" that a temporary ceasefire will only prolong the war;
- The two agreed to hold another phone call following the meeting between US President Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky;
- The conversation with Putin was arranged at Trump's initiative;
- Putin emphasized the importance of continuing to build on the understandings reached in Anchorage;
- Putin agreed with Trump's proposal to continue work on a settlement within the framework of specially-established working groups;
- The conversation lasted 1 hour and 15 minutes and was "friendly, cordial, and businesslike."

US PRESIDENT TRUMP: No, he's very serious. I think I can say that I believe Ukraine has made some very strong attacks also. And I don't say that negatively. I think she probably have to. (turning to Zelensky) I don't say that negatively. But I think, and he doesn't tell me that, that there have been some explosions in various parts of Russia. And it looks to me like, I don't know, I don't think it came from the Congo. I don't think it came from the United States of America. It possibly came from Ukraine, but I haven't asked that question. Maybe I won't bother asking.
