@Snowbell_Insane @JayinKyiv: There is no support from the US pouring into Ukraine.

The US has pledged no additional military aid to Ukraine since Trump took office. The last military aid package from the US was on January 9th, 2025. Usually, the US would pledge a military aid package for Ukraine every 2 weeks, they pledged over 80 packages in 3 years, since Trump took office nothing has been pledged. Neither has any economic aid package been pledged to Ukraine under Trump.

The only thing that was done, was to allow Europe to buy weapons for Ukraine from US companies. Meaning, Europe is taking some of the funding they would normally use to invest in their own companies for military equipment from Ukraine, and buying from US companies, which does not increase military aid. Ukraine lost the majority of its military aid and the top contributor to Ukraine, since Trump took office, as the US abandoned them.

Additionally, the US doesn’t want to allow Ukraine to use the existing ATACMS missiles they have. Neither does the US want to sell any ATACMS, SLAM-ER, Barracuda, Tomahawk, or JASSM missiles for Ukraine. And the jet-powered glide bombs that the Biden Administration bought for Ukraine many years ago, the Trump administration will restrict from being used inside Russia, and past a certain range in Crimea too.

Ukraine has severe shortages of HIMARS GMLRS, Patriot PAC-3 missiles, Long-Range missiles, ammunition, glide bombs, and air defense missiles. Due to Trump, Ukraine lost a significant amount of their military aid. Meanwhile, Russia has significantly increased its military funding.

Trump also hasn’t punished Russia, militarily or economically, for its actions as he said he would take serious action for months, only to place a handful of sanctions 10 months later, on mostly seriously damaged Russian oil refineries, and not in the non-damaged ones which make up +80% of Russia oil refining, or on the ghost tanker fleet, likely impacting 2% to 3% of Russia’s GDP at most, if enforced fully. Europe only accounts for 10% of all Russian oil and gas exports, and 6% of all exports, so even if hypothetically Europe stopped buying Russian oil and gas, Russia might suffer a little, they’d still fund the war, but it would not be crushing their economy, not to justify Europe buying Russian oil and gas.

The US has the power to help Ukraine militarily and crush Russia economically but they either are too scared of Putin or lack the political will to do so.

Putin has seen weakness and inaction from Trump and has greatly increased attacks against civilians and infrastructure in Ukraine.
