According to Fighter-bomber, the MiG-31 that crashed in Lipetsk Oblast last night had a malfunctioning left main landing gear, which the crew wasn't able to release by any means.
As landing with only one main landing gear deployed is prohibited, as he says, the crew steered the warplane to the "ejection zone" and ejected from the aircraft.
The two crew-members reportedly sustained injuries and were taken to a hospital.
