On the night of September 28 (starting at 20:30 on September 27), Russia launched a large-scale combined strike against Ukraine using attack drones, air- and sea-launched missiles.
In total, Ukrainian radar tracked 643 aerial targets:
•593 attack UAVs (Shahed, Geran, and others)
•2 jet drones ("Banderol")
•2 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles
•38 Kh-101 cruise missiles
•8 Kalibr cruise missiles
The main target was Kyiv.

⚡️ Russian Warship Hit Tanker While Evading Drones
On August 7, the Russian Navy’s Vyshniy Volochyok (Project 21631 Buyan-M class, carrier of Kalibr missiles) collided with the civilian tanker Nazan in the Temryuk Bay of the Azov Sea.
The incident happened at 03:59, when the ship tried to maneuver away after detecting Ukrainian drones. At 04:05, it struck the tanker on its port side.
Documents, photos, and a leaked captain’s report confirm the collision and visible hull damage, despite Russian attempts to conceal the accident.

@Robbbie_Sharp: The video is of an actual ICBM intercepted, the interceptor is reliable. You aren’t going to get combat use against ICBMs unless there is a nuclear war. That’s why there are tests
In total, US has had 6-7 successful real ICBM tests out of 13 for its two missiles GBI and SM-3 IIA

Agree.
Drones represent a field where the variety is huge, ranging from pure air defence problems to safety and security issues, and everything in between, sometimes all mixed together.
Encouraging an idea of a simple and impenetrable shield (eastwards) is unhelpful.

Hate the term "drone wall". Like "Golden Dome", it encourages the idea of an impermeable shield & obscures from the boring reality that what you need is more & more diverse sensors to detect drones, more low-cost means of interception & layered defences for…

@Robbbie_Sharp: In the mid-course these interception tests are basically the same as real combat use, the difference don’t matter that much since the physics are the same, MIRVs do not deploy at that altitude or in the mid-course phase, the velocity and range are the same, and what the interceptors would do is the same.
You are partially right, but these conditions are already similar to wartime other than warning times and maybe flying at a different angle or further away. You would be right about significant differences in ICBM-class test vs real combat ICBM if it was tested in the re-entry, terminal phase where significant differences can’t be accounted for, but such is not the case for the mid-course phase as it would be nearly identical in real combat except for some slight differences.
The ICBM doesn’t fly any slower or at a different altitude because it is a test and not wartime. The physics do not change because it was a test. Intercepting an ICBM in its mid-course phase, especially directly hit-to-kill at 600km to 1,000km altitude and 500km away vertically is extremely hard under any conditions, and it was done from the first try proving the effectiveness of the system.
Also, the funding would not change if the test was failed. GBI failed half the time and was still funded by the US Government and Congress.

@cym27s: Because Patriots are not just for ballistic missiles but for cruise missiles. Both Iskander and X-101s have similar warheads so they need to be shot down to prevent them hitting. Maybe the system itself was being attacked, maybe an important area nearby was being attacked.

@ukraine_map @cym27s: If an X-101 is already near the city of Kyiv, and hasn’t been intercepted yet. What would be the smarter idea, allowing it to strike its target because maybe the PAC-3 will intercept a ballistic in the future, or shooting down the cruise missile which will cause similar damage?

Nefarious drones also don't exist on their own.
More traditional intelligence- and counterintelligence activities play a very important role, though are perhaps often left out of the debates.
