Ukraine's HUR MO released footage from the attack with FPV drones on a Russian Project 21631/Buyan-M corvette.

The warship of this class is capable of carrying up to eight Kalibr cruise missiles.

The attack reportedly took place in the Azov Sea waters on August 28, 2025.

A car driver captured the moment of one of Russian strikes with cruise missile in the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, this morning.

The Ukrainian Navy confirmed the fact of a Russian strike with an unmanned surface vessel (USV) on the Lahuna-class reconnaissance ship "Simferopol" in the Danube delta last night.

This is the first known successful Russian USV attack on a Ukrainian warship since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

@rvcbrice: There's a good chance this was a crew issue. They were in the Sea of Azov on the Russia proper side, so they might not have anticipated or prepared for this type of threat.

War at sea means untold hours of boredom so staying alert is a real issue.

"Right now, the situation looks challenging but manageable. Most of the refineries that have been hit by Ukrainian drones continue to produce gasoline, albeit in reduced quantities. It has also been possible to redirect gasoline from unaffected regions, and some of the deficit has been eased by tapping state reserves.

It’s important to remember that a lot of Russian vehicles and military equipment run on diesel, not gasoline, and Russia has a diesel surplus. Accordingly, the sort of full-scale fuel crisis that could end up impairing the functioning of the economy—or the army—is still a long way off...

That said, larger shortages could push the government to more extreme steps...
