According to the Ukrainian Prosecutor General's Office, 202,997 cases for AWOL and 50,058 cases for desertion were opened between 2022 and July 2025. There were 67,840 AWOL cases opened in 2024 and 110,511 so far in 2025.

During a Pentagon test in August, US fighter jet pilots took direction from an AI "air battle manager" for the first time.
The Air Force and Navy employed the Raft AI’s Starsage tactical control system on F-16s, F/A-18s and F-35s during a joint military exercise designed to evaluate new weapons systems, advanced communications and battle management platforms.
Raft AI CEO Shubhi Mishra told Fox News that the Starsage system "both speeds up response time and improves accuracy, allowing pilots to make decisions that once took minutes in just seconds."

Finally, we have footage from the Ukrainian strike on the command post of the 155th Separate Guards Naval Infantry Brigade in Korenevo, Russia's Kursk Oblast, on July 2, 2025.
As a result of this attack, the deputy chief of the Russian Navy Major General Mikhail Gudkov, together with the commander of the 155 обрмп, Colonel Sergei Ilyin, and other high-ranking brigade's commanders, were killed.
