There were ~7k AWOL cases in 2022, ~17.7k in 2023, ~67.8k in 2024, and ~105.5k in Jan-July 2025.
There were ~3.4k desertion cases in 2022, ~7.9k in 2023, ~23.3k in 202, and ~15.4k in Jan-July 2025.
The SBI said ~21k troops returned to service between Nov 29, 2024, and March 1, 2025.
