Ukrainian President Zelensky sums up the Kursk operation on its first anniversary:
"1,300 [square] kilometers of Russian territory were under our control. And this forced the Russians not only to withdraw their forces from the Donetsk region, but also to ask for help in North Korea. We thwarted the Russian plan to develop an attack on Sumy and Kharkiv. Our guys took more than a thousand Russian prisoners in Kursk, and such ones that this allowed to move forward with complex [prisoner] exchanges.
