11 years ago on this day, Russia shot down a civilian airliner by a deadly BUK missile, killing all 298 people onboard.
Moscow worked hard to escape responsibility. Instead of admitting guilt and paying compensations, Russian propaganda spread deranged fakes and conspiracy theories, exacerbating the relatives' pain.
But, no matter how much money and resources Russia invested in its lies, the truth prevailed. The Hague District Court, ICAO Council, and a recent ECHR judgment have all established Russia's clear and full responsibility for this crime.
This tragic date emphasizes the critical importance of justice, despite all lies and denials. Because victims deserve justice. I extend our heartfelt condolences to everyone who lost loved ones onboard MH17.
