First of all, the Chancellor has by no means announced a Taurus delivery or pledge with this statement. It is unclear to me why people report this. This is not true.

Secondly, the German government under Olaf Scholz, together with partner nations, already lifted the geo-restrictions (we're not actually talking about anything else) for the border region around Kharkiv in May 2024. Remember the Kursk offensive? That was the direct result of this.

In my opinion, it hardly changes anything for Ukraine to now allow other border regions to be fired at with especially German-supplied weapon systems. Germany didn't really supply any weapons or ammunition that are affected by the lifting of...

The overall cost is $500 million, which is less than 1% of the cost of all military aid sent to Ukraine in the past 3 years. And it would save tens of billions and protect all of Eastern Europe
