🇺🇸 Bloomberg: Hegseth Set to Seek 8% Spending Shift at Pentagon

To me this reads as an effort to placate Musk/DOGE. Not an actual reduction in the DoD budget, but asking for an 8% cut across the board to be reprogrammed internally reads that way to the ill informed.

Congressional Rs are strongly in favor of a significant increase in defense spending, and despite Trump's musing about arms control agreements, his "Iron Dome" does nowhere without a lot of extra money.

🇺🇸🇺🇦🇷🇺 This is true, but the Trump Admin needs to live up to their stated intention of a durable and lasting peace. The best way to achieve that remains the further destruction of the Russian military and crippling their economy. A surge in security assistance and sanctions with teeth would do just that.
