- Transactions with Syrian governing institutions
- Transactions "in support of the sale, supply, storage, or donation of energy, including petroleum, petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity, to or within Syria"
- Transactions necessary to process "noncommercial, personal remittances to Syria, including through the Central Bank of Syria."
Valid till July 7.
This is a small step that could help ease electricity shortages and stabilize the economy.
Washington wants to see Syria's new rulers take steps towards political transition + cooperation with US for more holistic sanctions relief.
