Military activity in Belarus in September 2024. Briefly:

• A group of the Belarusian Armed Forces (~1600 people) is deployed in the area bordering Ukraine;

• At least 29 UAVs (27 of them – Shahed drones) flew into Belarus over the month, at least 2 of them were shot down by the Belarusian Air Force and the Russian Armed Forces;

• A Shahed drone flew into Latvia from Belarus for the first time;

• There’s no increase in the number of the military group of the Russian Armed Forces deployed in Belarus;

• Up to 100 mercenaries of PMC Wagner stay in Belarus, they continue to train security forces of the Lukashenka regime.

Preparations for the West-2025ls continue

In September, new information appeared regarding the preparations for next year’s majorls with the participation of the “regional group of troops” – West-2025.

Recall that back in February 2024, Minister of Defense of Belarus Khrenin said that in 2025,ls with the regional group of troops would be held in Belarus. A similar statement was made on September 9 by State Secretary of the Security Council Aliaksandr Valfovich, who said that in 2025,ls with the regional group of troops of Belarus and Russia would be held on the territory of Belarus.

Also, according to Belarusian Hajun, in early September, a delegation of servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces paid a working visit to Minsk to prepare for the upcomingls. In particular, their visit included a visual study of the places of troops’ deployment for the period of thels.
