@PoolGodzilla: There is nothing wrong with the wording. I think it's supported by the data.

@dambury67: Would it not make sense to capture the area to the west and use the river as a natural barrier then? Most people are/were expecting this.

RT @elisabethmalom1: Another sabotage attempt on #Norway? Friday night, security guards guarding one of Kongsberg's facilities in the country reported drones flying above the site. "We have security guards 24 hours a day, and its them who observed the drones," firm rep said.

🇺🇲 The Department of Defense has awarded AeroVironment a 5-year Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity contract with a ceiling of ~$1 billion for Switchblade 600 loitering munitions.

The FY25 budget request for SB 600 asks for $120.6 million to procure 54 systems, each of which are composed of 1 Fire Control Unit, 8 All Up Rounds, and 2 ISTAR components.

@Econwatc_h: Ya you're right, they should buy FPV drones for $100 each instead. That will definitely defeat China.

@Econwatc_h: Neptune is a shitty missile that lost to Harpoon in the Ukrainian military's own competition. Why on earth would western countries want to build that?

You need to consider that cheap systems can actually be extremely cost ineffective because they are so easy to defeat. The DoD has requirements for things like EW resilience and low observability that increase costs but also increase effectiveness.

@LskSerg: No they aren't. Not for what the DoD's requirements are.

🇺🇸🇺🇦💥 155mm production ramp-up ahead of schedule! 💥

Assistant Secretary Bush says that 155mm ammunition production will reach close to 80,000/month this fall (Q1 FY25). The previous target was 70,000/m. He also adds it will exceed 100,000/m next summer; the current target for that is the end of the summer/end of Q4 FY25, so that may or may not be a revision to the schedule.

I edited the graph to show the revision. They are basically going to be ~9 months ahead of schedule for 80k/m.
