According to Sveriges Radio, the applications for migration status say that a criminal case was opened against the mother and son in Belarus and “they are afraid that they will be put in prison.”
Despite this, their requests were denied.

This happened back in 2023, and last week, the man and his mother were reportedly deported from Sweden to Belarus. It’s said that the Belarusian was “arrested right on the border.” The fate of his mother is unknown.
