8th of May: Liberation Day and Veterans Day in Norway.

OTD 1945, the German forces in Norway surrendered and we were free once again.

It's also a day to remember those who have served since '45.
Some never came home.

Now a memorial for the some 8000 Norwegians and foreigners who lost their lives at sea in both world wars.

Destroyed Russian 2S7 Pion self-propelled 203 mm cannon. As said, the crew is dead. 7th of May 2024.

Quite a rare loss at to this point, 2 dozen losses of Pions have been documented, with the last one in December 2023
