I'd add, posts about claims from "Russian Telegram channels" that don't specify which channel are a significant source of misinformation. Different Russian channels have different biases and their claims should not all be treated the same.

@omnicynical: They aren't a 100% solution, but if they prevent catastrophic kills 10-20% of the time, that is a quite cheap and useful countermeasure.

RT @Textyorgua_Eng: Extra challenging: trajectories of Russian strike drones, ballistic targets, cruise and guided missiles during the massive attacks on Ukraine on 23-24 March 🗺️⤵️

On 23 March 2024, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with four S-300 missiles and 34 ‘Shahed’ drones. Ukrainian air defense intercepted 31 out of 34 UAVs.

On 24 March 2024, Russia launched 29 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles and 28 ‘Shahed’ drones, out of which 18 missiles and 25 drones were successfully intercepted.

The strikes targeted critical infrastructure, including an underground gas storage facility in Ukraine’s western region of Lviv. As a result of the attack, the ground infrastructure sustained damage.

During the same attack on Ukraine, one of the Russian cruise missiles briefly entered Polish airspace while flying along the Ukrainian-Polish border.

We visualised the approximate flight paths of the weekend strikes...

RT @JamieMctrusty: 26th March 1941, Souda Bay, Crete. The cruiser HMS York was hit and badly damaged by two Italian explosive motorboats, being beached to prevent her capsizing. The tanker Pericles was also hit, later sinking under tow. On 22nd May, York’s guns were disabled and she was abandoned.

Pictured:
(L) Italian Motoscafo da Turismo (MT) boat, which in action would be fitted with a 330kg warhead. Launched from destroyers close to the target, the pilot would steer his craft towards a ship before locking the rudder and baling out backwards, using a flotation device that had formed his backrest. Though obviously extremely dangerous, MT boats were not suicide weapons; they were designed so the pilot would survive, even if he ran a high risk of being captured.

Repair of runways of two military airfields in Belarus will continue in 2024.

According to the state procurement portal, the command of the Air Force and Air Defense Forces of Belarus is planning to buy 1000 ‘smooth airfield slabs’ of the PAG-14 and PAG-18 types. 1,259,025.57 BYN ($387,094) will be spent on the slabs.

The slabs are procured for:
• the 50th combined air base (military unit 06752, Machulishchy airfield) – 700 PAG-18 slabs;
• the 61st Fighter Air Base (military unit 54804, Baranavichy airfield) – 300 PAG-14 slabs.

PAG-14/PAG-18 slabs are used for airfield runways. They differ in thickness (140 and 180 mm, respectively).

According to the procurement documentation, the slabs are to be delivered from April 22 to July 1. As the experience of similar purchases in previous years shows, it’s unlikely to take place first time. Taking into account the need to comply with all the formalities, we can expect the slabs to be delivered ...
