Because... in the original footage... at 0:06 you hear gunshots.
That would answer question 1: They are fleeing because someone was shooting at them!

A group of Hamas militants that just arrived opened fire at civilians crossing the field to flee the horrific scene. (In the direction of a treeline where a lot of vehicles were parked.) A technical with a heavy machine gun is also firing at the fleeing civilians crossing a field.

So where is Vid 01 filmed?

We assume that this video is indeed related to the festival, based on the description accompanying the video and the attire of the people. The question now is in which direction we should search in relation to the festival grounds. The sun provides an answer. The Hamas attack took place in the morning. The initial fighting began at dawn and around 08:00, the militants were in the vicinity of the Festival

This was the direction of the sun at 09u local time.
In the video you see people running on a road in the direction of the sun. There is only one field large enough to meet the conditions.

In our database, we had a similar video (Vid 02): the same environment, the same direction of flight, but with better characteristics to make geolocation possible. In our evidence, we will compare both videos with each other based on environmental elements and the direction of the sun. Then, we will use this video to proof our geolocation.

Conclusion:

Based on the geolocation of the images used in the author's initial post, we can answer the 4 questions. There is no "staged military operation."

1) Where are these people fleeing from?
2) Why don't the cars match?
3) Why doesn't the landscape match?
4) Why are there no trees?

1) Hamas militants are shooting at them.
2) Because the drone video (Drone Vid) was recorded 600 meters further than the video of the fleeing civilians. (Vid 01)
3) Because (Vid 01) is recorded 600m away from the road. And even on google maps some very big fields are visible in the area.
4) Because (Vid 01) is taken in a big field.
