The Donbas Arena football stadium seen through the camera of a Ukrainian FPV drone flying over Russia-controlled city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine.

The Donbas Arena stadium used to host Shakhtar Donetsk matches and also hosted some matches during Euro 2012.

The stadium suffered damage and was closed to the public in 2014, after the Russian incursion into Ukraine and the beginning of the War in Donbas. It remains unused to this day.

RT @deaidua: Three new interesting details about Rheinmetall's new 155 mm factory in Unterlüß! In addition to Chancellor Scholz and Minister of Defence Pistorius, Danish Prime Minister Frederiksen will also be present at the ground-breaking ceremony on Monday.

I hope that this means that the new framework contract for 155 mm ammunition for Ukraine will be announced on the spot and that this is a joint procurement by Denmark and Germany (would not be the first time: Leopard 1A5, M113, Zuzana 2, Bergepanzer 2).

It was also announced today that Rheinmetall intends to produce not only 155 mm ammunition but also explosives and “rocket motors” at the new plant in Unterlüß!

For me it's pretty simple. There should be one goal for the politicians, that is to defend Ukraine the best way possible. That part should then be up to the military to decide. There are ofc a few exceptions to this.
Def Mon (Twitter)

This is not how it's been working. Several times the military decided to withdraw. That later got overruled by politicians. Severodonetsk and Bakhmut are two examples. I dont think it's healthy for the military to be run that way.
Def Mon (Twitter)

Ukraine did not fight in Bakhmut because it was the best strategy or to kill of wagner. They fought there because the politicians did not want to let it go because it wasn't popular to lose a city and they thought it would look bad in the eyes of the west.

@ellenripley_: That's not true. The politicians bypassed Zaluzhnyi for some things and went straight to Syrskyi.
Def Mon (Twitter)

@y_redrum0376: Yeah. You might wasn't to ask your self why. Was it because the goals set by the politicians were unrealistic or was it because he didn't have the tools to do it.
Def Mon (Twitter)

@FolgendenFolgen: It's not favorable to be surrounded on 3 sides, without counter battery or air defense. I wanted them to pull out. The Russians chose to fight in the city because it did not cost them a lot. They used expendable prisoners against UA regular units.
