I would say that the current naval situation in the Black Sea is the result of a long-running, largely independent naval effort, which kicked off in ernest with the sinking of the Moskva in April '22 and has since evolved as Ukrainian maritime capabilities have increased.

Saying this isn't "downgrading" Ukrainian achievements at sea. They have been very successful, esp considering their limited means

However, naval operations has had limited effect on how the ground offensive has developed and started long before this offensive was conceived

From an analytical perspective, I'm skeptical of labeling everything as "joint" or "multi domain operations".

As I see it, other services and domains sometimes plays a supporting role to the ground campaigns, other times they run what can be seen as their own wars.

RT @JackCarrUSA: THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER hit shelves on this day in 1984. I read it soon after publication and distinctly remember thinking that this was something special. Though I didn’t know it at the time, I was reading a work that would come to define the modern techno-thriller. Initially published by the Naval Institute Press, the novel introduced readers to a young Jack Ryan and a new author, a former insurance agent named Tom Clancy. When you sit down to read it, transport yourself back to 1984, a time when Reagan was in the White House and the Cold War was in full swing.

RT @Textyorgua_Eng: Last night, the trajectory of Russian Shahed drones during the attack on Ukraine was particularly complex.

The map below only shows the general direction of their movement, without specifying all the details 🗺️⤵️

We’ve sourced the data from @war_monitor_ua Telegram channel, although the start and end points on the map are very approximate:

🔴 Kalibr cruise missiles
🟣 Ballistic missiles
🟡 Shahed drones

Some UAVs veered off the main trajectory, disappearing from sight, while others joined later.

Interestingly, from the town of Komysh-Zorya in the Zaporizhia region, the S-300 missiles are being often launched towards the Zaporizhia district.

According to Ukraine’s Air Forces, on the night of 1 October 2023, Russian occupiers attacked Ukraine with Shahed drones from the south, southeast, and north directions.

Approximately 30 Shahed laun...
