The Russians would have had plenty of time to take measures to mitigate the impact of earlier strikes. In the open source domain, we don't know.

A few unanswered questions:
What is the full layout of the current Crimean AD network?
What EMCON do they operate under?
Readiness?

I don't think enough information is available to say that the strike against SAM positions on Cape Tarkhankut and other earlier operations in the northwest set the stage for today's strike.

Too much time has passed between these events.

The impact on the Black Sea Fleet remains to be seen too.
If this is a one-off strike, little may change

If the Ukrainians have a sufficient number of missiles (or other means) to conduct multiple follow-up strikes within a reasonably short time period, it could be significant

If we take a longer term look though, this attack illustrates a big weakness for the Black Sea Fleet.

Most major maintenance work is dependent on facilities in Sevastopol.

12. Back to the Ukrainians with food/attitude thread.

Its a good morning. Enjoy your coffee .... slowly.

(Especially all those who were up late watching film of and geolocating the 13th Ship Repair Plant in Sevastopol).

@VigorousFalcon @UAControlMap @GeoConfirmed: Its another case of a RU Telegram recycling an old loss (23rd August) from another angle.

My take on the 25th CAA:

There seems to be several "parts" to forming this Army

The units now deploying such as the 67th MRD was formed earlier this, in other areas (Bashkortostan is confirmed) and at least some elements has likely gone through a normal preparatory period

Current recruitment efforts is ongoing in the Far East, Irkutsk Oblast and Primorsky Krai.

I haven't seen anything yet on these elements being rushed through training and deployed.

There's a lot of uncertainty around the 25th CAA, but it seems to be created in two stages.
