@peterdannauthor @DefMon3 @PhillipsPOBrien This is what I said before. I was asked what was the best practical support the UK could provide on Feb 8th. I suggested longer-range AT systems because more capable conventional systems would not arrive before the invasion. I said air defenses would be "very useful". https://t.co/3R0ImeoTmp

@CalamineW @John_A_Ridge @DefMon3 @PhillipsPOBrien Gotcha. I think it was a combination, but I also think there is a lot about the early phase that we don't know. so I'm open to different viewpoints.

@John_A_Ridge @CalamineW @DefMon3 @PhillipsPOBrien Definitely, and there was a serious amount of improvisation during the battle of Kyiv. Also an important case study in SOF-conventional forces cooperation.

@CalamineW @John_A_Ridge @DefMon3 @PhillipsPOBrien I agree. I was most concerned about Ukraine being able to withstand the first hours, which is why I made those recommendations. NATO artillery was vital to holding back Russia's advance in the spring of 2022.

RT @CasualArtyFan: While Ukraine uses several “Base-Bleed” or Rocket-Assisted Projectile (RAP) artillery rounds, the newest addition is the M864 Dual-Purpose Improved Conventional Munition (DPICM). https://t.co/Pn8RvCF5PF

@whatismoo @John_A_Ridge @CalamineW @DefMon3 @PhillipsPOBrien Was going to write an article about early lessons for NATO SOF but working on other things at the moment.
