It will be interesting to see how the Russian Air Force and Russian soldiers work with Wagner in the future. Wagner's pilots likely knew some of those killed today, and Wagner depends on the Russian Air Force in Ukraine and for operations elsewhere. This is just the beginning.
-----------
@RALee85:
Russian channels suggest Wagner shot down or damaged 7-8 Russian Air Force aircraft over the past two days:
3 Mi-8MTPR-1 Rychag-AV
1 Mi-8
1 Ka-52
1 Mi-35
1 Mi-28
1 Il-18 (22)
Killing 13 or more airmen

If it is actually true that no one in Wagner will be punished for this, there will be a lot of animosity directed at the leadership of the MoD and the Kremlin for allowing Russian airmen to be killed without a serious response.

@Aviation_Intel But we're talking about a Russian force that operates with the Russian military. The situation is different and there was anger about the lack of a response after 2015.

Wagner forces were replaced in Bakhmut at the end of May-early June. I don't think any Wagner troops are currently on the front lines, or were pulled from there for this event. Not clear this event will have any immediate direct effect on the battlefield.

Germany 🇩🇪 intends to provide Ukrainian Forces 🇺🇦 with 45 more Gepard or Cheetah Anti-Aircraft Systems by the end of the year
Throughout the war, Germany supplied Ukraine with 34 Gepards, which are most effective in intercepting low-flying objects like Shahed-136 Kamikaze Drones https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1672728586321633280

And there was no Wagner presence down in the south where the heaviest fighting has taken place this month. Wagner is designed for assaults and not for defensive operations. It was never clear what role they would play during Ukraine's counteroffensive.

I was trying to find something funny to say, but I don't think I can top the joke this guy is.

RT @KevinRothrock: Hours before this scene, Putin gave a national speech where he called Prigozhin's actions a "stab in the back" that threatened Russia's very statehood. An this is how locals in Rostov saw him off tonight. https://twitter.com/KevinRothrock/status/1672743334324973569/photo/1

Some early thoughts:
-More questions than answers
-Short-term compromise ≠ long-term solution
-This was a mutiny not a coup
-Too soon to say Putin will fall anytime soon
-Not clear this will affect Ukraine's offensive
-The previous Kremlin-Wagner relationship is over

-Likely an attempt by Prigozhin/Wagner to keep their independence and not be subordinated to the MoD
-May have succeeded in the short-term but probably won't in the long-term
-The terms of the agreement aren't clear but these probably aren't a solution

-----------
@maxseddon:
Kremlin spox Dmitry Peskov:
– charges dropped against Prigozhin, who will leave Russia for Belarus
– Wagner fighters who didn't take part in the uprising will sign contracts with the MOD
– Wagner fighters who did take part not charged
– No word on potential MOD leadership changes

-What started as a factional dispute between powerful Russian figures became a public challenge to Putin
-This event was designed to get Putin's attention
-Possibly one of the worst days in the Russian Air Force's history and caused by Russians

-Wagner-Russian military cooperation will likely suffer
-Putin and the MoD's leadership look weak
-Prigozhin likely alienated many pro-war figures for doing this while Russian soldiers are defending against an offensive and killing Russian airmen
