Not a lot of friendly ports for them to pull into if something happens either.

@nka979 The internal condition of the vehicle suggests it was indeed stripped of parts. No indication of any fire damage or explosion inside.

This is standard procedure since Soviet times.
This doesn't say anything about reliability or the material condition of the ships supported.

Northbound under the Great Belt Bridge earlier today, the Baltic Fleet Buyan-Ms Zeleny Dol and Grad plus the Sliva-class rescue tug Evgeniy Churov (SB-921).
Possible North Sea deployment, or beyond, but time will tell.
