@strakovic151 You are right on both counts. Hearing it from people on the ground and reading about it increasingly. Lots of problems in the army, some I'm told are hangovers from the Soviet origins, others bureaucracy which is in all armies have, some because of war of attrition.

Two of the incidents involving the USN were minor collisions with the AGI USS Banner.
In September 1967 with the Soviet Anemometer (not sure class) and in 1968 with the Izmeritel (Type Tuntselov).
No serious damage in either of these incidents.

A more interesting episode:
On April 22nd 1970, USN A-4 Skyhawks, according to these sources, dropped bombs 1-2 cables off the bow and stern of the Pamir-class AGI Peleng, to force it to alter course.
Would love to see any US sources or confirmation of this story.
